Something Different to Monitor on FM Radio

Hi,

You probably know about listening to 1610 AM for low power stations like; turnpike traffic, talking houses or the Nantucket ferry schedule?

Well how about interesting stuff on FM?

Try this, Tune to 88.1 FM, why you ask?

Depending on your traffic density & direction of travel, a random house drive-by, also try mall parking lots, Wal-Mart etc., because anyone who has installed an aftermarket XM or Sirius satellite receiver or an ipod with a FM transmitter that plays to their car's FM radio will be on the default freq. of 88.1 FM.

Most of the time while driving the roads you'll catch a few seconds at best, just enought time to think to yourself, humm... country? comedy? heavy metal? If they are goin with you, you get a longer listen. Parking lots are nice because the device is probably plugged into that on all the time power plug so its transmitting into free space while Billy Bob is off casting off bling.

Go ahead, program 88.1FM on an unused channel on your radio and listen in for the "Huma."

(if you are like me, you've got two scanners going and the dual-band "Hamster" radio, so I'd have the FM off anyway)
